At The Texas House, we offer our residents the opportunity to learn healthy new life skills while they are in the safe and structured confines of our exclusive sober living home. We know that a successful recovery is not just about sustaining abstinence from alcohol and drugs, but about learning and practicing the skills that lead to a whole, healthy, and happy life.
The time that our residents spend with us is the perfect time to begin learning new life skills as they are in the transitional place between healing from active addiction and returning home. Learning new skills gives our residents a new set of tools to use in sustaining their total well-being and ultimately sustaining their abstinence.
How Education Benefits Recovery
Learning the skills necessary to cope with the challenges of daily life is an important part of the recovery process and will be vital to our resident’s success when they return home. Learning new life skills will help give those in a recovery a clearer view of their potential and offer them hope and inspiration, as well as the vital skills they will need in the future.
