Family is an essential component of each person’s life and for residents at The Texas House, family will constitute an important part of each individual’s recovery process especially as they work to transition to sober living and returning home. For many residents in a transitional living facility, work will need to be done to build new relationships with family members as part of their journey to recovery.
Our team understands the vital role that family plays for each resident and will work with each individual to help him understand the role that his family plays in his recovery process and help him build healthy new pathways with family members who will play a vital role in his future.
Family and Future
When a resident leaves The Texas House to return home, their family will be an important part of their emotional support network. It is vital that residents have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with their family members while they are in the safe, supportive sober living environment.
By working to build healthy connections, overcome challenges to relationships due to past addiction, and set goals for the future, residents at The Texas House can look forward to a healthy future with their family members who will be a crucial part of their continuing recovery journey.
Residents will be offered the opportunity to have visits from family members on Sundays.
We will also offer a family support group each week that visitors must attend in order to visit with their loved ones. Our goal is to provide the residents of The Texas House with a safe and structured environment and offering a family support group gives us the opportunity to help our residents work on family relationships while in the safe space of our sober living house.
