Spiritual health is an important aspect of a wellness program and a vital part of total wellbeing. At The Texas House, we work with our residents to help them understand the importance of spiritual health and how it relates to their recovery journey.
Our team works with our residents to help them understand the mind-body-spirit connection, its role in health and wellbeing, and offer them tools to help achieve balance.
The Importance of Spiritual Health
For those seeking total wellness and sustained sobriety, spiritual health is a vital component. In order to change behaviors, one must conduct an honest examination of his thoughts and feelings – a type of spiritual contemplation. Spiritual health offers those on a recovery journey increased confidence, hope, and positivity about their future.
Spiritual health is an important part of the 12 step process and offers those in recovery the opportunity to find a greater sense of self and reduces feelings of powerlessness. Spiritual health also leads to deeper levels of awareness and helps lead to conscious choice making – key aspects of the recovery journey.
Spiritual Health at The Texas House
At The Texas House, we work with our residents to help them understand the spiritual component to their recovery and the effect it has on their total health.
Through individual, group, and peer to peer sessions we work to help each resident fully understand how to view the mind, body, and spirit as one entity and teach them the wellness skills they need in order to live a healthy life while in transitional living and after they return home.
